Madge Turner Griswold passed away barely a year after her husband, Ralph. They met in the mid-1960s at Bell Telephone Laboratories (Bell Labs) in Holmdel, New Jersey, where Madge was a Technical Writer and Ralph headed the Programming Language Research Group. Both were excellent writers, publishing work independently and collaboratively.
Like Ralph, who explored the mathematical aspects of weaving in his retirement, Madge’s published works explored many subjects. For example, “Those Companions of William the Conqueror From Whom Ralph Edward Griswold and Madge Elaine Turner Are Descended and Their Descents from The Conqueror Himself” (2002) details the similar ancestry of herself and Ralph.
